Berryhill statement on Governor lifting drought declaration

In response to Governor Jerry Brown’s announcement on Friday that the drought emergency had been lifted in all California counties except for Fresno, Kings, Tulare and Tuolumne, where some restrictions were left in place address diminished groundwater supplies, Senator Tom Berryhill, R-Twain Harte, issued the following statement:

“It’s great news that Governor Brown has declared the emergency drought over,” Berryhill said. “However, the continued conservation efforts, while well-intentioned, are a mere drop in the bucket to the amount of water access we’d have with additional water storage. We need to get moving on building the Sites and Temperance storage projects.”
