Berryhill 'one in, two out' legislation makes sense for California

Easing regulations will put Californians back to work

Sacramento – Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte) is introducing legislation similar to the “one in, two out” Executive Order signed by President Trump.

“Let’s make California great again. We have systematically stifled the entrepreneurial spirit that built this country with a patchwork of regulations governing every aspect of our lives. From farmers to restaurant owners; manufacturers to retailers, all feel the overwhelming burden of a government out of control.

Like the federal Executive Order signed today, Berryhill’s legislation will require any government agency requesting a new regulation to identify two regulations that it will cut from its own department.

“Small businesses are the backbone of California’s economy – particularly in my region. Streamlining government and getting folks out from under mountains of redundant or outdated regulations is a great first step to making California great again.”
